Kris Allen upends season-long favorite Adam Lambert to win American Idol's eighth season championship tonight in Los Angeles.
Kris says Adam deserved to win the trophy (new this series)...and appears shocked by the news that he's won. Kris' performance in last night's finale was apparently enough to get him over.
Kara DioGuardi's "No Boundaries" is the song of record for the winner this time. Kris performed the song to close the show, which ran almost ten minutes longer than scheduled. Then again, Ryan Seacrest warned us last night that was going to happen.
